This is the distribution system for my hydronic radiant floor heat, so far installed in my media room:
The subfloor was laid over Reflectix insulation in 2 5/8″ layers of OSB, the first cut in sections and layed with a 3/4″ gap as a track for the PEX tubing. Originally I laid another layer of OSB on top of that, as you can see in the pictures, but that didn’t hold or transfer heat as well as I had wanted.


To improve the heat transfer, I trowled on some thinset, and laid and screwed some concrete backer board down instead, which you can see in the laminate install pictures below.
