Ebay Ass Holsters

I just gotta vent. This time about certain A-holes on Ebay who feel the need to try to screw people over.

Look, all I want to do is buy something. Is that too much to ask? So if I give you my money, do me a favor, send me the thing I want and in a timely fashion. Really, in my opinion, a simple, easy request.

In this particular case, I wanted a pair of KYB struts for my Fiero. As I was installing my new engine I decided now would be an excellent time to replace the rear struts. I priced them at The Fiero Store (awesome e-tailer, by the way), and I also happened to search for them on Ebay. The Fiero Store had the Gas-A-Just struts for $139.95, and Autopartzilla had GR-2 struts and the GR-2 front shocks on ebay for $159.90 (Gas-A-Just are higher performance than GR-2s). I decided to go with Autopartzilla and get the fronts too. I clicked the buy-it-now and immediately paid for them. That was on Tuesday, 11/21/2006.

I hear nothing about it until Sunday, November 26, when I get this:

Thank you for purchasing [4] KYB GAS-A-JUST GR-2 SHOCKS STRUTS PONTIAC FIERO 84. Please leave feedback for me on eBay and I’ll do the same for you.

To which my response was:

I will definately leave feedback, once I recieve my order. Until I recieve my order I have no way of judging the experience.

The reply to that was:

That is fine!

I was kind of rubbed wrong, at that point. You just don’t ask for feedback from a buyer before they’ve recieved the item. Then, on Tuesday, November 28 I get an email stating that UPS had recieved the billing info, and included the tracking number. So, for a whole week this guy couldn’t bother to send me my shocks and struts, but was more than willing to take my money. Well, slower than I’d like, but it’s on it’s way, right? WRONG.

Over the last week I’ve been checking the tracking number, only to find the same thing each time, Billing Information Recieved. This means that UPS recieved the billing information, but no package to ship. Finally, on Monday, December 4 I got fed up. I emailed and asked ‘Has This been shipped?’ This is the back and forth email conversation that followed:

Autopartzilla: You can call our office for that!

Me: Why would you tell me that? You are my point of contact, you answer my question. Forget it. I know the answer, you have not sent my shocks, according to ups tracking. You’ve been badgering me to leave you feedback, why don’t you just concentrate on pleasing me as a customer? Earn the feedback. I’ve paid you, now you call your office and fix it.

Autopartzilla: Those email are automated and we have no control! However you can call our office for status on that!

Me: No, you call your office and get this fixed, so I don’t have to call my attorney general and the attorney general of your state to get it fixed. I paid my money, now you do your part. Just get my shocks sent, you are costing me money.

Autopartzilla: There has been a delay due to the ups loosing the package and we just found out right now! We had no idea till you send the email to us! I am sorry but we have send it already for you!

Me: Bullshit, UPS says you never gave them the package. I want my money back, now!

Autopartzilla: I just talk to the ups pick up manager and they confirm that they got the shipment package! They will pick up new package tonight in 30 min! I have put the new shocks already! I also have pay the shipment already! What is your problem! I am trying to help you get your parts! I don’t like your tone at all! I send the package on 11/28/06! Call our office to get a refund and I stop the package and I would like NOT to get anymore emails!

Me: (No response)

Autopartzilla: They are going out tonight and I have only 10 min to due that! What do you want me to do!

Me: Fine, if you can guarantee it’ll be picked up within 30 minutes and you send me the new tracking number I’ll leave you alone. If not then return my money via paypal within 30 minutes. I don’t need to call your office, you call your god damn office.
My problem is that you’re trying to screw me, and there’s a very good reason to not like my tone. I don’t let people screw me.
And make sure the shocks are the right ones.

Autopartzilla: It will leave in 10 min and you can check the tracking # tomorow!

Of course, he didn’t send me a new tracking number, when I checked the old tracking number it suddenly showed ‘in transit’ with tracking data. If UPS had lost the first package, as he claimed, they never would have used the old tracking number.

(By the way, all of the above was copied and pasted directly from the emails. I did nothing to edit the content or sentence structure to make this individual seem to be a non-natural born citizen of the United States, nor to make him appear unintelligent. Evidently he’s naturally this unintelligent.)

Just a little word of warning to all who may consider doing business with this individual in the future, spend your money elsewhere.
