After a week, I don’t think I could be happier. My visual acuity is great, better than with glasses. The only imperfection is a haze around light sources, mostly at night. This is often described as the halo effect.
Well, upon waking up this morning, I experienced the joy of rolling over and seeing the alarm clock clearly. Hot damn, that was nice. It really is the little things in life. Most of the previously described tearing, light sensitivity and burning is gone, as is the feeling I have an eyelash in each eye. [...]
So, here we go, the procedure. If you’ve seen the video, you know the basics. Rather than present what you can see in the video in my words, I’ll cover what I saw, as an (im)patient.
Ok, it’s done. I’ll go through the actual procedure in another post. For now, I’d like to report that 40 minutes after the procedure I’m seeing pretty good. I can see the tv, this screen, and (WOW) the digital clock across the room.
It’s about 41 hours 30 minutes until my scheduled lasik procedure. No, no excitement here. The prospect of finally being free of glasses after a 26 year struggle is a good reason to be excited. Sounds hokey, but tough S.
