FOND DU LAC, Wis. – An Eden man probably regrets calling authorities to report that he hit a deer on the highway.
That’s because he was a registered sex offender – and he had a girl in his car.
He was taken to jail Saturday, according to the Fond du Lac County sheriff’s department.
“He was almost home,” said Sheriff’s Lt. Rick Olig.
The man hit a deer around 10:45 Saturday night and called police, Olig said. The responding officer ran a check on the man’s license information and discovered the man’s sex-offender status.
Because the man had a girl in his car, his probation and parole agent placed a hold on him for violating the terms of his release.
